0.2 - Godot 4 Quick Test
Warning. The game in its current state may cause motion sickness to some players. More information below.
Darling, listen up!
As you may have noticed, our latest version of Microwanderer might make your head spin a bit. But fret not, my dear! We are tirelessly tinkering with the sky shader and camera settings to alleviate this dizzying effect. However, if you're prone to motion sickness, we suggest either avoiding this version or simply scaling down the window for the game.
Now, onto the exciting news! We've re-prototyped the game in Godot 4, and let me tell you, it's looking positively stunning with our new fractal-based sky shader! While it may cause a bit of a showerdoor effect, we think the breathtaking scenery it generates is well worth it. And trust me, I know a thing or two about breathtaking scenery!
But that's not all, my loves! We've also adopted multithreading for the generation of successive terrain sections, making the game run smoother than ever before. No more lagging or freezing up - we're all about seamless gameplay! Can I get a round of applause for our hardworking team, please?
And as if that wasn't enough, we've also given the game a dazzling makeover with a jewel-like mauve/violet/purple fantasy color palette. It's positively dreamy, my loves! Of course, this means we'll be revamping the game's iconography in the future, but for now, please excuse the default Godot icon in this release.
So, let's raise a glass to progress and innovation, shall we? Cheers, darlings!
